Blog: Set for more success

Ji-sung Park is full of confidence for the calendar year ahead...

It was great to win our last match of 2008, against Middlesbrough.

I had many good chances to score - when I blow a really big chance, I can't forget it until the match is over. But now I don't care, I'm just happy we won.

I think more good things are going to happen for me and the club in 2009. I'm really looking forward to all our games in the new year, including our Champions League tie against Inter Milan in February.

It’s going to be a difficult tie, but we’re all looking forward to it. Inter have won the Serie A title for the past two years and they are doing very well again this season. But we know we’re capable of winning the game; we played some very difficult teams on the way to winning the Champions League last season.

We always enjoy playing against the top teams and I think it’s good for us that we’re away from home first. Hopefully we can get a positive result in Milan and bring them to Old Trafford in a good position. We're always comfortable and we'll have the fans behind us for the second leg.

I really want to help the team reach the Champions League final again and, of course, I would love to be involved this time.

For now though, I’m just concentrating on doing my best in every game. I have to - everyone in our squad has great ability and plays at a high level, not just in matches, but in training as well.

I enjoy watching my team-mates train - Ronaldo has great tricks, of course, as does Giggsy in a different but still unbelievable way. Giggsy has such great experience as well and I always learn a lot from him. Scholesy is another player I enjoy watching – he’s very comfortable on the ball and is a great passer with unbelievable vision.

When you look at how strong our squad is, I think we have a great chance of winning every competition we’re in during 2009.
